Amos L. Waters
Entered service January 4, 1943. Received training at Camp Robinson, Arkansas; Fort George G. Meade, Maryland; and Camp McCoy, Wisconsin. Landed in France six days after D-Day and was assigned to Company H, 26 Infantry Regiment, 1st Division. He participated in the liberation of France, Belgium and the capture of Achen, Germany. While participating in a mission to capture the town of Merode, Germany, he was reported missing and later declared killed in action November 29, 1944. Interment in the U.S. Military Cemetery #1 Henri-Chappelle, Belgium. Rank: Private First Class.
