Claude O. Taylor
Son of Mrs. Irene Watts. Entered service October 15, 1940 at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Received his training at Camp Clairborne, Louisiana; Camp Mackall, Hoffman, North Carolina, where he assisted in training of glider troops. Sent to Nashville, Tennessee, and Camp Forest, Tennessee. Sent overseas to England being a platoon leader of the 193rd Glider Infantry of 17th Airborne Division. Went into action Christmas Day and going to the aid of U.S. troops in the Bastogne Ares. Killed in action January 7, in Belgium. Burial is at U.S. Military Cemetery, Grand Failly, ten miles North of Verdun, France.
