Son of Mrs. Winifred Strawn. Born March 20, 1923. Entered service February 3, 1943. After graduating from Gunnery School at Fort Myers, Florida and Airplane Mechanics School, at Sheppard Field, Texas where he was promoted to Sergeant, David had his bomber crew training as waist gunner on a B-17 at MacDill Field, Tampa, Florida and he and his crew flew to England in May, 1944. He was promoted to Staff Sergeant in England and received the Air Medal after six missions. Reported missing July 12, 1944. Killed in action in Germany, July 12, 1944.
