Son of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Farmer. Entered service September 23, 1942 at Peoria, Illinois. Received training at Jefferson Barracks, Missouri in October 1942; Chanute Field, Illinois, December 6, 1942. Had five month schooling, graduating as machinist. Sent to Wyoming June 5, 1943. Sailed from New York October 21, 1943, going to England where he served as Projectionist of Moving Pictures. Campaigns: Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland, Central Europe, and Air Offensive Europe. Decorations and Citations: European-African-Middle Eastern Theatre Ribbon, One Silver and One Bronze Battle Stars, One Service Stripe, Three Overseas Service Bars and Good Conduct Medal. Arrived in U.S. August 11, 1945. Discharged September 24, 1945 from Camp Grant, Illinois as Corporal.
