Son of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Farmer. Entered service in Army February 24, 1943 and left for Scott Field, Illinois March 3, 1943. Sent to Camp Hulen, Texas, for training; then to Louisiana and back to Camp Hulen in May 1943. Sent to New York in August 1944 for overseas duty. Landed in England, served also in France, Belgium, Holland, and Germany. He was a member of the Anti Air Craft Section being a range setter on a 40 MMAA Gun. Campaigns: Ardennes, Rhineland, and Central Europe. Decorations and Citations: European-Africian -Middle Eastern Theatre Ribbon, American Theatre Ribbon, 3 Bronze Battle Stars, 3 Overseas Service Bars, Victory Medal and Good Conduct Medal. Discharged February 1, 1946 from Fort Sheridan, Illinois as Corporal.
