Son of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence E. Laugharn. Enlisted in Naval Air Corps July 17, 1944 at St. Louis, Mo. Received training at Jacksonville, Florida; Memphis, Tenn; back to Jacksonville, Florida and Banana River, Florida. Was presented with Air crewman Wings. Reported September 2, 1945 to Alameda, California. Navel Air Station for Advanced Operational Training aboard a Patrol Bomber. November 3, 1945 landed at Kaneohe Bay, Oahu, Hawaiian Islands after a 16 hour Flight from the States. Returned to States May 20, 1946, arriving Alameda Naval Air Station, California. Entitled to wear Asiatic-Pacific Ribbon, American Area Ribbon, and Victory Medal. Discharged June 16. 1946. U.S. Naval Personnel Separation Center, Shoemaker, California as Seaman First Class Aviation Radioman.
