Son of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Lowery. Entered the U.S. Marine Corps March 29, 1943. Trained at San Diego, California. Sent to Camp Lejeune. North Carolina for Radar School. Sent to San Francisco, California port of embarkation in January, 1944. Left for overseas in March, 1944. Arrived in Guadalcanal in May, 1944. Stationed there till January, 1945 then sent to Guamtill July, 1945 then back to U.S. Received discharge February, 1946 at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina as Staff Sergeant.
