Assigned to 59th battalion for Infantry Basic training. A few days later was transferred to 52nd battalion for Motor Mechanic school. Completed course there in September 1943 and sent to The Infantry School, Fort Bening, Georgia, for advanced Motor Mechanic training. Completed course there December 28, 1943. Sent to Camp Robinson, Arkansas and assigned to Company D. 262nd Regiment, 66th Division. Served as Company Mechanic and instructor for truck drivers' course. On September 27, 1944 transferred to Corps of Military Police. 4th Service Command, Prisoner of War Camp at Como, Mississippi. Sent to Camp Shelby, Mississippi on September 9, 1945.
