Son of Mrs. Bernice Petefish entered service on September 4, 1942 in Peoria, Illinois. Sent to Scott Field, Illinois. Received training at Camp Wheeler, Georgia; Miles Standish, Massachusetts. Left for overseas June 2, 1943 to England, Ireland, France, and Germany. Returned to U.S. September 30, 1945. Wounded in action in Germany, February 12, 1945. Saw action in Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe. Discharged October 7, 1945 from Camp Mc Coy, Wisconsin. Rank: Private, First Class.
