Son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Ryan. Enlisted January 6, 1938 In Navy at Great Lake, Illinois. Was on USS California at Pearl Harbor at time of Japan's attack, December 7, 1941. Transferred to USS Penn, to USS New Mexico. Reported February 6, 1945 to San Francisco, California for re-assignment to Naval Air Station, Pensacola, Florida. Overseas as of this date June 18, 1947. Still In service as Ship's Clerk.
