Son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Schofield. Entered service in Naval Reserved at Springfield, Illinois December 22, 1944. Boot training at Great Lake Naval Training Base, Illinois. Oversees service was in the Philippine Islands, Japan, and China. He served on Mine Sweeps, U.S.S. Ransom and U.S.S. Dunlin. Discharged at Great Lakes. Illinois July 26, 1946. Rank: Fireman Second Class.
