Albert Sims
Son of Mr. and Mrs. Otis Sims. Entered service March 13, 1941 at Scott Field, Illinois. Received training at Fort Riley, Kansas; Camp Tunston, California; Camp Polk, Louisiana; Shreveport, Louisiana. Going across to Germany and was among the first to cross the Rhine. Wounded in action in Germany March 27, 1945, and taken to a hospital in Rheims, France, remaining there until April 19, where he was sent to a hospital in England. Returned to U.S. May. 1945 to Mayo General Hospital at Galesburg, Illinois. Discharged October 1, 1945 as Private First Class.
