Reported for active duty Chaplain's School, Harvard University, Cambridge, Massachusetts, January 28, 1943. Assigned to 108th Anti-Aircraft Battalion, Camp Edwards, Massachusetts, July 1943; on Maneuvers with 17th Anti AircraftGroup in Louisiana July, 1943 to January 1944. Went to England January 1944 to June 1944. Landed at Omaha Beach. Normandy France, 19 days after "D" Day. Action in France, Belgium, and Germany. Received five battle stars for defense of England, Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes, and Rhineland. Returned to U.S. October 1945, was 21 months overseas. Discharged January 6, 1946 from Camp McCoy, Wisconsin as Major. Ribbons for European and American Theatre and Victory Medal.
