Son of the late Albert Underwood and Mrs. Elah Jones. Born November 19, 1918. Was a Reserve in the Navy having served three and one half years. Was called to service November 4, 1940 and served six months. Was discharged and sent home. Was called to service again August 10, 1944 to San Diego, California and received his sub-marine training at New London, Connecticut. He was discharged on December 29, 1946 as Torp 3/c. Served sixteen months.
