Entered the U.S. Army Air Corps June 3, 1942. Took his training at Maxwell Field, Montgomery, Alabama; Walterboro Army Air Base, Walterboro, South Carolina; attended Army Air Forces Intelligence School at Austin, Texas; Camp Kilmer, New Jersey. Went overseas April 29, 1943. Served in North African, Mediterranean, and European Theatres. Battles and Campaigns of Naples-Foggia, North Apennines, Rome-Arno, Rhineland. and Central Europe. Discharged at Camp Grant, Illinois March 13, 1946 as Lieutenant Colonel. Served fourteen and one half months of continental service and thirty-one months overseas service.
