Son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Boyd. Entered service May 6, 1942 at Scott Field, Illinois. Received training at Harding Field, Louisiana; Baton Rouge, Louisiana; AAF Tampa, Florida; Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Went overseas to Belgium and Germany. Discharged October 29, 1945 at Fort Sheridan, Illinois as Sergeant.
