Son of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Ballinger. Entered Marines August 1942. Received training at San Diego, California. Sent to Southwest Pacific where he was wounded in landing at Saipan. Taken to Hawaii, then to Seattle, Washington and Great Lakes Naval Hospital. Then to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania March 1945. Discharged July 1945 as Private First Class.
