Entered Coast Artillery at Peoria. Illinois in 1925 and was unassigned. (Philippines). Joined the 59th C.A. Corregidor. Re-enlisted and was in several Divisions from 1933 until 1943. Received training at Clairborne, Louisiana; Chaffee, Arkansas; Camp Cooke, California; Fort Custer, Michigan; Fort Smith; Arkansas; San Antonio, Texas; Camp Robinson; Little Rock, Arkansas. Discharged on C.D.D. at Torney General Hospital in October 1943 as Sergeant.
