Son of Mr. and Mrs. Darwin Deatherage. Entered service October 30. 1942 at Scott Field, Illinois. Received training at Fort Mc Clellan, Alabama; Fort Bening, Georgia; Fort Dix, New Jersey. Went overseas March 23, 1944. Served in European Theatre. Was in Normandy. Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe Campaigns. Wounded in action in France in 1944. Returned to U.S. October 1945. Discharged October 31. 1945 at Camp Grant, Illinois. Rank: Private First Class.
