Glenn L. Austif
Son of Mr. and Mrs. Vern Austif. Entered service March 14, 1944 at Fort Sheridan, Illinois. Received basic training at Camp Grant, Rockford, Illinois. Was sent overseas in October 1944 serving with the Medical Corps, through the New Guinea Campaign, East Indies Campaign and Philippine Campaign. From Philippines was sent to Japan where he served with Army of Occupation. Received discharge at Sapporo Hokkaids, Japan in January 1946. Re-enlisted in Regular Army; came home on 90 day furlough and upon returning to service in May of 1946 served in various Camps as a Military Policeman until receiving his final discharge in January 1947, at Pratt General Hospital, Coral Gables, Florida.
