Son of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Berry. Entered service April 12, 1943. Received training at Camp Pearcy, Williamsburg, Virginia, Camp Pendleton, Oceanside, California. Left Navy to service with Marines in Commando Training. Left for overseas November 1943 in Solomon Islands, Honolulu, and Marshall Islands. Hospitalized in New Caledonia, Russell Islands in North Solomons. Returned to the U.S. October 10, 1945 at San Francisco, California. Discharged December 1945 as Gunners Mate Second Class.
