Son of Mrs. Pearlie Bottom. Entered service September 23, 1940. Stationed at Fort Clayton, Canal Zone, two years. Returned to U.S. September 1943. Sent to Camp Maxey, Texas. Was overseas in England, France, Belgium, and Germany. On December 16, 1944, with 1st Army Defense of Von Rundstedt Attack. Returned to U.S. on USS William S. Young, August 1945. Discharged August 14, 1945 at Fort Sheridan, Illinois as Technical Sergeant.
