Son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Boyd. Entered service June 8, 1942. Received training at Great Lakes, Illinois. Was on Convoy duty in Pacific. Returned to San Diego, California to attend Advanced Torpedo School. Returned to Southwest Pacific on USS Kimberly. Discharged December 15, 1945 at Great Lakes, Illinois as TM Second Class. Re-enlisted March 1946 for two years.
