Son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Burns. Entered Services at Fort Sheridan, March 13, 1941 in the Army. Received training at Fort Riley, Kansas; Camp Polk, LA; Fort Knox, Kentucky; Camp Cooke, California; Pine Camp, New York; Indiantown Gap, Pennsylvania; Maneuvers on desert in California and in Tennessee. Sailed February 10, 1944 and served sixteen months in the following Campaigns; Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes, and Central Europe. Wounded in Germany March 15, 1945. Discharged October 11, 1945 at Fort Custer, Michigan as First Sergeant.
