Son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Coe. Entered service in the Navy August 11, 1943 at Los Angeles, California. Received training at Naval Training Station, San Diego, California August 18, 1943; Basic Engineering School, Diesel School; and Small Boat Training. Went aboard the USS Beletrix AKA 3, February 15, 1944. Engineer of one of the small landing boats on Saipan. After invasion, was transferred to Amphibious Operating, Waipo Point, Pearl Harbor. Left there on the USS Oberon AKA 14 for the Philippines and then on to the invasion of Okinawa. Returned to U.S. August 20, 1945. Discharged Nov. 3, 1945 at San Diego, Calif as Elec. 3/e
