Son of Ralph Cowman, Sr. Entered service September 10, 1942 at Scott Field, Illinois. Received training at Wichita Falls, Texas; Chanute Field, Illinois; Euphrata, Washington; Pendleton Field, Oregon; Caldwell, New Jersey for six weeks school in Electrical Propella ; Pawtucket, Rhode Island for four weeks advanced training then Vandilla, Ohio; Fresno, California; Lakeland, California; St. Petersburg, California. Overseas in Central Burma. Discharged March 6, 1946 at Camp Grant, Illinois as Staff Sergeant.
